Remembering with Poppies

Next week, on the 11th November, is the annual Remembrance Day where people around the world think about all those who lost their lives or were hurt in battle defending our way of life and the values that we live by.

A representative group of children from our school will be attending the Remembrance service at the war memorial and within school we will be holding our own Acts of Worship to think about Remembrance Day and what it means to us.

Year 6 House Captains have a selection of Poppy Appeal items that the children may wish to purchase, along with the poppies themselves.  Guide prices are between 50p and £1 and we are limiting the items to 1 per child at the moment as they were very popular last year.  All proceeds will go to the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal fund.  We hope as many children as feel comfortable will wear a poppy this year and join with us in remembering the sacrifices others made for us.  Items are on sale during the start of the school day – if your child is unsure they should ask their class teacher.
