At 11am yesterday we joined together as a whole school for a time of silence and reflection, remembering the many men and women who lost their lives in the war.  During this time our School Councillors represented our school at the Sandford and Holton Heath War Memorial for a short service led by Rev Jackie Maw. We joined with members of our local community and afterwards enjoyed talking to representatives  of the ladies section of the Royal British Legion.  Although Year 6 were still out on their residential trip, they also had a moment’s silence while at Arne Nature Reserve.

During our time together we reflected on the words of the poem ‘For the Fallen’ by Laurence Binyon

‘They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.’
