Enlarging the library…!

We spoke with many parents at the Year Group curriculum evenings in September about our new library system and how we wanted the children to take ownership of it and help to lead decisions about what books we used to stock the shelves.

Well, we’re delighted that so many of you have engaged with this and, as promised, are chuffed to pieces to announce that the first batch of pupil requested books have now been delivered to school.  There were many requests to Mrs Tubbs for new titles and some requests for more of what we have got (as they are so popular they are hardly ever on the shelves – Minecraft, anyone?)

Since the library opened, we have loaned out a fantastic 839 books, and the number is rising!  Today the new books have been added to the library and we are still awaiting a few more to arrive, so please keep using the app to explore your local bookshops, find books that excite and interest you and make your demands known to us so that we can support your love of learning!  If you’re not sure what we’re talking about with the ‘App’, please read this letter here.

New book titles added to the library as requested by our children are:

Duck in the Truck, The Very Hungry Caterpillar, The Gruffalo, Sharing a Shell, Rosie’s Walk, The Tiger who Came to Tea, We’re going on a Bear Hunt, Hairy Harold, Five on a Treasure Island, Artemis Fowl, Holly the Christmas Fairy, India the Moonstone Fairy, Big Nate’s greatest hits, The Adventures of Captain Underpants, Percy Jackson and the Titan’s curse, Demon Dentist, Best Friends, Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief, Percy Jackson and the Greek Heroes, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Excellent Excuses, Hard Luck, Elmer, Mr Stink, Ratburger, Minecraft…  the list goes on!  Get yourselves down to the library now!

Sorry for the delay in accepting this comment – I have only just seen it! The username for each child is their date of birth – 02/02/2002 for example. The unique ID is a 4 digit number that they can get from the library, or we could give to you if you come to the school office or phone in.
      Many thanks,
      Mr Payne
