Phase 2 was sparkling with colour last Wednesday when the children came to school dressed up ready to take part in lots of activities on India Day.

During the morning the children learnt about Diwali, made some diva pots and had a go at designing some Mendhi patterns.

However, the most exciting part of the morning was when we got to do some Bollywood Dancing. Sarah, a professional dancer taught us some great moves and we had great fun trying to learn them.

In the afternoon there were some very strange sounds coming from Phase 2 as they tried a range of Indian dishes, some were more popular than others!!!

We were also taught some Classical Indian dances by Sarah in the afternoon where we really had to concentrate. The day ended with a mini performance to the parents. It was wonderful to hear the children laughing and see them smiling enthusiastically during all the activities. I’m sure it will be a day that we will remember for a long time.

Thank you to all of those parents, grandparents, uncles, aunts and friends who came in to support the children – it really meant a lot to them to be able to share what they had been learning!
