What a fantastic start to the week we had yesterday. The children all arrived like ‘old pros’ and were so independent in getting themselves sorted and ready for the day.
The new Saplings have settled back into their weekly routine really well and remembered so many of the things they were taught last week – we are so proud!
This week we a particularly focusing on the fantastic story ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’, the Michael Rosen classic. A great deal of the activities we have planned are based on this text, which we hope the children will really enjoy. During our parents information evening we will be handing out pupil questionnaires. These are for the children to put down their ideas and interests, and this in turn will inform our planning.
We will speak more about this at the information meeting, but I would stress how important it is to have these conversations at home so we can plan activities that will truly engage your child.
The theme for this half term is ‘All About Me’ – a topic that covers a vast array of different topics. In past years we have looked at our bodies, skeletons, families…. and much, much more. It would be great to have your child’s ideas too.
We hope you all had a fantastic and restful weekend and we look forward to yet another fabulous week in Saplings.
