A group of our year 5s were chosen to join other children in the Lytchett pyramid to take part in a special Humanities event. We joined with children from Upton Junior school and Lytchett Minster Secondary school to focus on the centenary of the First World War.
During the morning, the children shared their History and Geography learning with other pupils, listened to a presentation by Year 9 students about the First World War and visited the memorial in Lytchett itself to learn the names of some of the soldiers commemorated there. The children then worked together to research some of the names, giving an interesting insight into the lives of soldiers who fought and died. The children had a fantastic morning learning alongside schools within our pyramid and learning more about the 100 year anniversary of the First World War.
