Wow! We were thrilled with how many children spent time creating some really unique ‘blinged’ bikes and scooters for our bike-it celebration day. It was really difficult to pick winners but eventually we decided upon these creations.
The day also celebrated some Year 5 and Year 6 children who have spent the last few weekends taking part in their Level 1 and Level 2 Bikeability course. The children have learnt how to navigate roads and cycle lanes safely which is a much needed skill as children become older. Rob, our Bikeability provider, attended the day to give out certificates and badges to all of those children who were successful in gaining Level 2.
Rachel (Sustrans Bike-it officer) and Rob then delivered sessions to all of the children. Saplings and Key Stage 1 listened to the story Mrs Armitage and Key Stage 2 had the opportunity to learn how to fix a puncture.
