Phase 2 came to school with great excitement and enthusiasm last week in preparation for their attack on Portland Castle! First we had to take a long, hot, bumpy and NOISY journey to Portland on a coach.

On arrival, we placed our equipment in a safe place and then had a snack to prepare for the activities ahead.

We decided to split into two groups so we could explore the castle fully. Whilst investigating all the rooms of the castle, one group came across a Tudor Musician. He seemed a very pleasant man who offered to teach us some Tudor music and dances. We agreed to take him up on his offer and had great fun.

Whilst this was happening the other group explored the grounds of the castle, which was much larger than we initially thought. We found cannons, games to play, costumes to try on and even a herb garden.

After all these activities we had worked up quite an appetite and decided to stop for some much needed food. We shared some of our findings with each other and then decided to swap groups so we could all discover some of the other adventures of the castle.

Finally it was time to leave the castle and make our long journey home. We had had a great day of exploration and many of us have said we will return to attack the castle again. Portland Castle you have been warned!!
