Pupils and parents had to look twice when they arrived at school last Wednesday morning to make sure what they were seeing was true. Sandford Primary School had been invaded by KINGS and QUEENS!

Phase 2 had come to school dressed as British Kings and Queens as part of their learning in their new topic ‘Castle Capers’. The children took part in a variety of activities including a ‘hot seat’ drama activity where they had to sit on a throne and present themselves. They also had to think of a rule they would introduce if they were king or queen, we had some very interesting ideas.

In the style of true royal monarchs, we created portraits of ourselves and made frames to mount them in.

We had a really fun and interesting day. Everybody had worked really hard to find out about their royal monarch and we loved dressing up, including the teachers! There are rumours that we will be having royal visitors again at the end of the summer term!
