Last week Year 1 and 2 visited our local Heathland to explore nature and the variety of life so close to our school. They discussed the possible uses of the heathland, did a bit of bird watching, listened to the sounds all around and explored the touch of objects (heathland treasure) while blindfolded.
Finally they made Heathland Guardians using some materials they found around on the Heath. A very interactive and practical day – slightly delayed for Lilac class who had to wait a couple of sleeps longer for their visit due to the rain…. but we all made the visit eventually!
Thank you very much to those parents who also came along to help out – it always makes it a little more special to have some of you along to help develop the children’s learning.
